PRESENT DAY: News of the death of award-winning documentarian Hella Truls has shocked fans of Norwegian cinema. Her brave and beautiful films had helped shape both politics and art over the last three decades. An unreleased first feature film, TRAPPED IN PURGATORY, is discovered amongst her personal effects.

It tells the story of the making of the classic album by Norway's black metal pioneers, NOTHING HOLY, a renowned and mysterious band of the early 90's scene.

After NOTHING HOLY recorded their opus they were never seen or heard from again. Will Hella's film shed fresh light on this mystery?
